when did I blink my eyes and suddenly realize that five years flew by? It couldn't have really gone that fast could it? The late nights, the runny noses, the diaper changes, the giggles, the tears, the first words, the tantrums, the coos, the smiles, the 'firsts', the newborn, the baby, the toddler, no more. She's been a little girl for a while, but the age of five seems like a bigger little girl. I always ask her to please slow down and stop growing so fast. She giggles and says, 'but I can't mommy'. I guess that just means that I'll have to try even harder to stop time with my camera. I really don't photography my own girls nearly enough. You know, the whole 'shoemakers kids' and the fact the my own kids are harder than anyone else's kids to photograph. So happy birthday to my baby girl.
Ahhh, Amy, I think I already told you but this is fantastic!!! Yes, you should shoot your girls more! :)

What a great invite. I've been reading and getting inspired by your blog and pictures for a long time, and thought it was time to say Hi.

What a GREAT invite!
I hope you don't mind me sharing that I have been the opposite in that I recently discovered my love of photography and my children are now 15 and 10. My daughter at nearly 16 pretends to be a supermodel, my son at nearly 11 gets bored quickly unless there is a soccer ball or car being used as a prop. :)
Thank you for sharing your talent and wisdom with us.

Image is amazing and perfect. You admittedly do not have quantity perhaps, but you sure got quality girl! LOVE it. Happy Birthday to Ansley! I am a strong believer that the mama should be celebrated on birthdays as much, if not more. So happy birthday to you too mama! Enjoy every minute.
